i have linksys router and its far to difficult to get it to work with verizon dsl is there a better and easier router to use

They all will have the same issues, as they all use the same protocols to set up the security system.

The most common problem however with a router on DSL systems, is a mistake made by you during the setup.

Did you Clone the MAC address of your computer onto the router when asked. Many people don’t, because they do not know what this is for.

DSL and many Cable modem, log the MAC address of your computer when you first set up the account. It expects to always get that code returned, whenever it’s modem asks for the MAC address of the connecting compute.
When you install the router, it send the router’s MAC address, instead of the computers, and the modem shuts off internet access, to prevent what it perceives and stealing of service.

To fix this, you need to set the router back up, and be sure to clone the MAC address when asked. You may be able to clone the address from the web based router control panel on some models, or you can just run through the setup process for the router, and make sure to clone when you hit that step.
